How we do it

Our mangrove forests are only accessible by foot or small boats and encompass over 85 acres. With each full moon we harvest 0.1% of the total area, using age old harvesting methods without the use of any heavy machinery.

Before each harvest we personally select and mark the pieces that will eventually become products in our Manglería line.

Each harvest and uniquely shaped root mass offers new shapes and endless ideas for exploration, invention and hopefully new products.

The full moon brings higher tides and allows us to "float" the wood back to the mainland to be cleaned and categorized. Because of the limited area and the extremely unpredictable shapes, each harvest yields enough raw material for approximately 30 pieces.

Our products are hand made and hand finished by master artisans, many of whom are continuing and preserving the construction methods of the ancestors.
